Tucker Carlson explains precisely why JD Vance was the right VP pick

President Donald Trump on Monday nominated Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate. Emphasize “As Vice President, JD will continue to fight for our Constitution, stand with our troops, and do all we can to Make America Great Again.”

Vance
I got it. In response, a fan commented, “It’s an honor to run with President Donald J. Trump. He’s brought peace and prosperity before, and with your help, he will do so again. Let’s charge towards victory!”

Tucker Carlson, who sat with Trump and Vance at the Republican National Convention after the announcement, laid out specifically why Vance was the right choice earlier in the day.

He addressed the crowd on Monday.
Heritage Foundation Policy FestivalCarlson prefaced his remarks with an indictment of the political class and the types of people he sees as its key members.

“I’d been involved in politics all day, since 5 a.m., and I’d forgotten what a nasty process politics can be, and how brutal and ruthless politicians can be. It reminded me of why I hate politicians,” Carlson said, later suggesting that “the truth is, their true nature is deceptive.”

“Every bad guy I ever met in Washington was against J.D. Vance.”

Carlson suggested that the people he regularly speaks to on both ends of the aisle are passionate about their causes and mean what they say, while politicians tend to be opportunists who peddle empty rhetoric in their pursuit of power — a point he said was underscored by the efforts of various figures to secure positions, particularly as Trump’s running mate.

“The job is one person making the decisions and whoever gets the job has a lot of power right away. It’s like waving a flank steak at an alligator,” Carlson said.

While Carlson expressed distaste for the process and some of the candidates vying for the stakes, he implied that Vance stands out from the rest.

“Now, J.D. Vance has been selected as the vice presidential nominee, and that should be exciting to anybody who’s paying attention,” Carlson continued. “For those of you who don’t know much about J.D. Vance, I’m not going to defend him, and I’ll tell you what I just saw, and that is that every bad person I’ve ever met in Washington was against J.D. Vance.”

Republican donors are proactively
Humiliating Rupert Murdoch, Appalachian Populist Reportedly Murdoch launched an extensive lobbying effort to persuade Trump not to pick Vance. A Trump campaign source told NOTUS that Murdoch was calling Trump multiple times a day, urging him to choose North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum as his running mate. Republican strategist Karl Rove, who was also a running mate, was also pushing Burgum over Vance.

Murdoch’s personal campaign against Vance was fuelled by two of his publications, namely
The Wall Street Journal The New York Post also ran several editorials slamming Vance.

As desperation grew and the choice drew closer, the establishment’s campaign against Vance became more desperate and aggressive.

The Blaze News previously reported that David Axelrod, a Democratic strategist and adviser to former President Barack Obama, said Vance should be disqualified for suggesting Biden’s inflammatory comments set the stage for the assassination attempt on Trump.

Vance
I have written Shortly after President Trump was nearly killed by an assassin, “The Biden campaign’s central premise is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist who must be stopped at all costs. This rhetoric led directly to the assassination attempt on President Trump.”

Axelrod
I have written“If @JDVance1 was on the VP shortlist, this tweet, posted an hour after the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, should disqualify him in the eyes of the Trump campaign. The tone of the moment was wrong.”

“Trump probably doesn’t want a vice president who is going to say things on the spot,” Axelrod added.

Adam Kinzinger, a former member of the House January 6th Committee,
Participated Democratic strategists suggested Vance’s comments merited disqualification.

Republican presidential candidate Joe Walsh responded to Vance on X:
write“What a sick and disgusting tweet. Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist. The Biden campaign is right to say so, and it is completely irresponsible to link this shooting to the millions of Americans who believe that. You are a perfect fit for Trump’s VP. Shame on you.”

Trump’s decision to ignore those comments and ultimately choose Vance infuriated Bill Kristol and his allies.

“Turn the Republican Party into the Trump Party. [Trump is] “They are trying to turn a pro-Trump party into a pro-Trump movement. Indeed, the election of Vance marks the completion of the transformation of a conservative party into an authoritarian movement.”
I have written Kristol: “Vance has been more consistent and fervently America First on foreign policy than Trump; he is more committed to ethno-nationalism and anti-‘elite’ populism than Trump; he is more committed to the destruction of apolitical civil service than Trump; and he has more contempt than Trump for the norms, institutions, and practices of liberal democracy.”

Former Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney
melted Regarding Vance’s selection, Trump wrote, “J.D. Vance has vowed to do what Mike Pence will not do – overturn an election and illegally seize power. He says the President can ignore court decisions. He will kowtow to Russia and sacrifice the freedom of our ally in Ukraine. The Trump Republican Party is no longer the party of Lincoln, Reagan and the Constitution.”

Carlson emphasized that the character and temperament of Vance’s detractors says a lot about the former Marine.

“They thought he would be harder to manipulate and less intent on killing people.”

“I don’t think God is always on my side, and sometimes I’m not on God’s side,” Carlson said, “but I know exactly who represents the other side.”

“It’s much easier to tell who’s in it because they enjoy killing other people in a pointless war,” Carlson continued. “I know those people. Their smell is so strong, I can smell them as soon as they walk into a room. And those same people were in line from Milwaukee to Chicago, all of whom were in line to knife J.D. Vance last week.”

Carlson points out that the animosity towards Vance wasn’t based on who he was as a person — he’s a good guy, one of the few happily married people in Washington — but rather, the attack was launched because “they thought Vance was less manipulative, less intent on killing people — that he would be an obstacle to their exercise of power. And so they attacked him in a way that I’ve never seen before.”

Carlson added that Saturday’s attack and assassination attempt on Vance underscored to him that the ongoing battle is not just political, but spiritual.
