Ousted Fox News host Tucker Carlson and Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswami on Wednesday attacked Republican candidate Nikki Haley's hawkish and warlike positions, calling her a “puppet” of Washington's political establishment. He accused it of being.
In an interview with Ramaswamy published on X (formerly Twitter), Carlson lambasted Haley, accusing her of being just like a Democratic donor. Specifically, she pointed to her unwavering commitment to Ukraine fighting Russia and Israel fighting the US-designated Hamas. A terrorist organization that controls the Gaza Strip.
“If you're a big Democratic donor, this is a very tough moment. Your candidate is going to lose,” Carlson said, referring to President Biden's poor poll numbers in recent months.
Additionally, Carlson said Democratic donors should instead be looking to Haley, a former South Carolina governor and U.N. ambassador in the Trump administration.
“So what do you do? Well, if you're smart, you might overthrow your opponent. Maybe you're supporting a Republican candidate, but that candidate is actually And of course they found one, her name is Nikki Haley,” Carlson said, adding that she supports “the never-ending neocon wars.” He pointed out that he was allegedly doing so.
“Nikki Haley, stripped of all her outward features, is the same as Joe Biden and the people who support Joe Biden in her priorities,” he added.
In an interview, Ramaswamy supported Carlson's conclusions, but Haley's support – which Carlson claimed was essentially a Democrat – was actually bipartisan, with Bush-Cheney It also claimed to contain Republican relics of the era.
Ramaswamy said all of these people were using Haley as a puppet to defeat Trump.
“I think a true puppeteer is basically nonpartisan in nature,” Ramaswamy said. “There are several things they care about. Keeping foreign war machines running is high on the list. Maintaining control of the United States by the administrative state is also high on the list. They are worried about the Republican Party itself. I found a more useful puppet inside.”
“It's not Biden, it's not Gavin Newsom. It's Nikki Haley within the Republican Party itself,” he continued. “And I think that makes them a very convenient frontman because then they can actually escape any suspicion of partisanship against Donald Trump or partisanship of the Democratic Party.”
According to Decision Desk Headquarters, Ms. Haley has seen an increase in approval ratings in recent polls, averaging 11.3% in national Republican primary polls. She recently ranked No. 2 in the nation, topping Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' national polling average of 11% for her. Trump still leads with 64.1% support, while Ramaswamy has 4.4% support.
Haley has been the target of Ramaswamy's ire in recent months, but until her recent surge in popularity, she had largely avoided harsh criticism from other candidates and intense media scrutiny.
Haley's unwavering support for Ukraine and Israel, which are fighting wars with Russia and Hamas, respectively, distinguishes her from other leading Republican candidates with more isolationist foreign policy views.
