Tragic Passing of Tulane Basketball Star Greg Glen III

Greg Glen III, a prominent player for Tulane University’s basketball team, tragically passed away on Monday at the age of 22. The university described his death as a “tragic accident.”

Sarah Cunningham, Vice President of Student Affairs, expressed her sorrow in a letter to the Tulane community, stating, “It’s with deep sadness that I reach out to you today. We lost Greg Glen III, a cherished member of our university who contributed so much through his spirit and passion for both sports and academics.”

Cunningham emphasized that Greg was an exceptional athlete who brought joy to everyone around him. However, details surrounding the accident remain unclear.

Greg, the eldest brother in his family, was majoring in health and wellness. He hailed from Pompano Beach, Florida, and was noted for his positive energy and kindness, traits that led him to be well-respected in the South Florida basketball community.

“Greg will always be remembered as part of our university family, not just for his sports achievements, but for the genuine warmth he shared with all,” Cunningham added.

Glenn attended Calvary Christian High School in Florida, where he became a Division I prospect. He started his collegiate basketball career in Michigan but only participated in four games during his freshman year before transferring to Tulane for the 2023-24 season. During his time at Tulane, he primarily played off the bench, averaging 3.6 points over 9.7 minutes per game.

In the last season, however, he had a significant breakthrough, starting all 34 games and averaging 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.
