Tulsi Gabbard calls for rare release of MLK assassination documents

New Disclosure on MLK Assassination Documents

Tarsi Gabbard, the national intelligence director, has stepped forward as the Trump administration pushes to make public some controversial Epstein-related files.

On Monday, Gabbard announced the release of over 230,000 pages of documents tied to the investigation into Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination, per President Trump’s executive order. This extensive release, claimed to be “unprecedented,” contains details regarding the FBI’s inquiries, potential leads, internal memos, records from James Earl Ray’s former cellmates, and an array of CIA documents.

“This declassification and release of these documents represents a significant move towards uncovering the truth,” Gabbard stated.

Gabbard emphasized that Americans have been waiting for around 60 years to understand the full extent of the federal investigation into King’s assassination. “With President Trump’s guidance, we aim to ensure complete transparency surrounding this crucial moment in our nation’s history,” she added.

Attorney General Pam Bondy echoed these sentiments, saying, “The American public deserves answers decades after this shocking tragedy. The Justice Department is honored to collaborate with Director Gabbard and others under President Trump for this important revelation.”

Though some documents have been made available in the past, this new batch has been digitized for the first time, with only slight edits for privacy, accessible online. Previously, the only document in digital form concerning the assassination of President John F. Kennedy was related to that case.

Dr. Alveda King expressed gratitude towards President Trump and Gabbard for their commitment to transparency. She mentioned that her uncle’s pursuit of truth and justice remains a powerful inspiration for many Americans today. “While we continue to grieve his loss, this release is a significant step toward the truth that the American people deserve,” she stated.
