Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (R-Hawaii) thanked President-elect and former President Donald Trump for allowing her to play a “small role” in his presidential campaign.
in post Gabbard told X Magazine that Trump was a “kind and courageous man” and that it was “a great honor and privilege to know him.”
“I offer my deepest gratitude and aloha to President Donald Trump for allowing me to be a small part of his winning campaign to Make America Great Again,” Gabbard wrote. “It was an honor and privilege to know @realDonaldTrump. He is a kind and courageous man who truly wants what's best for the American people and people around the world.”
Gabbard, who previously ran as a Democratic presidential candidate in the 2020 presidential election, said the American people “must speak out against any efforts by those who did everything in their power to sabotage the previous president's office to try to do it again.” He added that he hoped to denounce the incident.
In October, Gabbard announced her joining the Republican Party during a Trump rally in Greensboro, North Carolina, describing the party as “the party of the people, the party of equality” and “the party of common sense.”
Gabbard endorsed Trump in August, before joining the Republican Party, and spoke out about how Trump “didn't start new wars” during his time in office, and how “he took action to quell and prevent wars.” He emphasized that he had taken it.
Gabbard, who ran on the Democratic side in the 2020 presidential election, criticized Vice President Kamala Harris during the debate for her career as California's attorney general and for her time in prison for marijuana. At the time, Harris was serving in the California State Senate.
In September, Gabbard said that voting for Harris was “voting for Dick Cheney.”
