Memorial for Charlie Kirk in Glendale, Arizona

Rev. Rob McCoy delivered a heartfelt message about Jesus Christ to a large crowd gathered in Glendale, Arizona, to remember Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, who was tragically killed during an event at Utah Valley University on September 10th. It’s inspiring to see such a turnout; reports claim that over 70,000 people filled the State Farm Stadium, with many more joining online.

McCoy, a close friend and pastor to Kirk, reflected on the impressive achievements Kirk made in his short life. He mentioned that as he walked over to the event, he overheard the Turning Point staff expressing their worries about the organization’s future without Kirk’s guidance.

During the tribute titled “Building Legacy: Remember Charlie Kirk,” McCoy stressed the importance of understanding the message of salvation that Kirk cherished deeply. He said Kirk’s wishes were clear: to honor Jesus as a guest of honor at the memorial. It was a poignant moment, as McCoy described how Kirk had entrusted his life to the Savior at a young age.

“In God’s hand, Jesus left His heavenly throne for the cross, enduring humiliation without sin,” McCoy remarked. He tried to simplify the concept of sin for the audience, making it relatable and easy to grasp.

As the atmosphere shifted, McCoy encouraged anyone wanting to embrace Jesus to declare their faith openly. He resonated with Kirk’s enduring spirit, emphasizing how Kirk faced adversity on campus, even amidst death threats, with unwavering faith.

Throughout the memorial, there was a palpable sense of community and remembrance for Charlie Kirk, a figure who inspired many through his commitment to faith and politics.
