Turning Point USA Appoints Charlie Kirk's Widow as New CEO

New Leadership at Turning Point USA

On Thursday, the Board of Turning Point USA made a unanimous decision to appoint Erica Kirk as the new CEO and chair of the organization. This move honors the wishes of her late husband, Charlie Kirk, who had expressed a desire for Erica to take over following his passing.

Turning Point USA, founded in 2012, has expanded significantly, with more than 3,500 schools, over 2,000 student groups, and around 800 faith-based organizations involved.

“It was truly a privilege to stand by Charlie, and he prepared us for this moment,” Erica stated. “He built Turning Point USA to endure even the toughest challenges.”

Erica and Charlie were married in May 2021 and share two young children, ages 3 and 1.

Erica has previously appeared on The Charlie Kirk Show, acknowledging that her husband held more conservative views than she did. “I love you. You’re my best friend,” she expressed during the show.

Since Charlie’s death on September 10th, Erica has shared several poignant videos and images. One video on Instagram features her holding her husband’s hand and expressing her love while kneeling beside him.

Addressing the public on Friday, she vowed that her husband’s spirit “will never surrender; we will only grow stronger.” Erica also mentioned a recent anecdote about her daughter telling her that Charlie was on a business trip involving a “blueberry budget.”

“The individuals responsible for my husband’s death have no idea what they have ignited. They took Charlie for promoting patriotism, faith, and God’s love,” she said passionately. “If I thought my husband’s mission was strong before, they truly don’t understand the force they’ve unleashed across our country and the world.”
