Surge in Interest for Campus Branches After Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

Turning Point USA is experiencing a notable influx of inquiries from individuals eager to establish new university branches, following the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk last week.

Andrew Corvette, the executive producer for Turning Point USA, mentioned on Sunday that in just the last 48 hours, the organization received over 32,000 requests from those wishing to start a new campus chapter.

“Currently, TPUSA has around 900 official university branches and about 1,200 high school branches, totaling approximately 3,500,” Corvette, who also acts as a spokesperson for the group, shared on X.

A Fresh Momentum for Turning Point USA

Corvette remarked, “Charlie’s vision of having a Club America Chapter at every high school—around 23,000 in total—will materialize much sooner than he ever anticipated,” highlighting a passionate call to action for expanding Kirk’s vision.

Kirk was fatally shot during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University as part of a series dubbed “American Comeback Tour.” His charisma and impact on conservative youth activism made him a well-known figure in political discussions.

Details Surrounding Charlie Kirk’s Passing

On Thursday evening, Kirk’s family was escorted from Utah to their hometown in Arizona aboard Air Force 2. Footage of the moment captured the emotional farewell, particularly as his wife, Erika, was seen in distress. They had two young children together.

A memorial for Kirk is scheduled for next Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, with President Donald Trump expressing his intention to attend.

On Friday, Kirk’s widow pledged to steer the TPUSA movement forward, reassuring supporters of its continuity.

Trump’s Response

“For everyone hearing this in America tonight, my husband’s movement will not fade,” Erika asserted. “I will ensure that his legacy endures—it will grow even stronger and bolder,” she affirmed, confirming the continuation of the annual “America Fest” conference planned for December in Phoenix.

Reflecting on the broader impact of Kirk’s assassination, former campus activist Judas Waxelbaum from Arizona State University suggested that this event could awaken a “sleeping giant” within the movement, potentially boosting membership.

Hope Amidst Tragedy

In an interview, Waxelbaum noted, “The movement isn’t going anywhere. I think what transpired with Charlie might actually catalyze something much larger.” He expressed optimism that Kirk’s legacy could prompt a resurgence in activism.
