Turning Point USA honors Charlie Kirk as ‘America’s greatest martyr’ in heartfelt tribute

Tribute to Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk was honored as “the biggest martian in America.” He recognized danger around him, yet prioritized reaching out to young people over his own safety, according to a heartfelt tribute from Turning Point USA, the organization he co-founded.

“All of us at Turning Point USA are heartbroken and devastated by this hateful murder, losing our guiding light,” the statement read.

“Charlie understood the importance of debate and genuine discussion to discover the truth and foster mutual understanding, even amidst disagreement,” they added.

Turning Point noted that Charlie wasn’t unfamiliar with threats and faced many throughout his life but continually chose to engage with young Americans rather than worry about his safety.

“Now, Charlie stands as America’s most significant martial artist for the freedom of speech that he deeply respected,” they said.

The organization also extended condolences to Kirk’s wife Erika and their two children. “Charlie was a model husband and father. We request that everyone keeps the Kirk family in their thoughts amidst their immense loss,” they mentioned.

Kirk, at 31, was shot while speaking to an audience of around 3,000 during the first stop of his national tour at Utah Valley University.

Before his rise on platforms like YouTube and X, Kirk founded Turning Point at just 18 years old, from his parents’ garage.

His organizations, Turning Point USA and Turning Point Action, saw growth from $4.3 million in revenue in 2016 to $92.4 million by 2023, as noted by a report.

The group described Kirk as a person who “loved America, its people, its Constitution, and the freedom they brought to the world.”

Kirk’s faith in Christ was highlighted as paramount. “When asked about his legacy, Charlie said he wished to be remembered most for his faith,” the organization stated.

“Even at the end, he openly declared the gospel,” they shared. “He was a brave young man inspiring millions to strive for a better America.”

“We’re all going to miss Charlie,” the tribute concluded. “He will not be forgotten.”
