Turning Point USA Launches Club America Chapters in Tennessee High Schools
Turning Point USA has teamed up with Tennessee lawmakers to roll out Club America chapters in high schools across the state. This initiative aims to engage students in free speech and political discourse.
Riley Gaines, a notable figure from OutKick, attended the event and shared her excitement, honoring her deceased friend and TPUSA founder, Charlie Kirk. “Seeing so many young people here today… it fills me with hope,” Gaines remarked during her address.
This effort mirrors a recent move in Texas, where Gov. Greg Abbott announced plans for similar chapters in every high school. Several state leaders, including Sen. Marsha Blackburn, joined to celebrate this milestone for students’ rights to express their beliefs freely.
In a poignant reminder, Gaines recounted the posthumous impact Charlie Kirk had after his tragic death, noting that students nationwide attempted to establish TPUSA chapters only to face backlash. Some even encountered punishment for wearing suits in his memory. There’s a notable shift occurring, as states look to push back against educational systems that label expressions of certain political views as “too controversial,” a welcome change in an often left-leaning landscape.
Gaines described this moment as a “complete cultural resurgence” for conservative advocacy within campuses. She reflected thoughtfully, “Even if politics isn’t what you envisioned doing, seeing the events unfold recently stirred something inside me… I wondered, how can I lead a life like Charlie Kirk did?”
Yet, despite the enthusiasm, she urged vigilance. “In the wake of this tragedy and from what we’ve seen among the youth wanting to engage, it’s clear that Tennessee isn’t exempt… No one can escape the cultural tumult affecting our country,” she cautioned.
With the groundwork laid, Gaines encouraged the next generation to embrace Kirk’s mission. “My call to action for you is to join Club America and bring along five friends,” she enthused. With dedicated leaders like her at the forefront, Kirk’s impact—and by extension, Turning Point USA’s legacy—seems destined to endure.
