According to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, the suspense about whether “Tush Push” will remain part of the Eagles’ attack will be resolved in May.
“For a long time until 2006, we were unable to push or pull players anywhere,” Goodell said. I said ESPN’s Mike Greenberg was on Thursday night. “Is it a part of soccer? Is it a football game? Or is it a play that can pose a risk to the play? [will] You will probably be voted in May. ”
Greenberg pushed onto Goodell if he had any sense of what the outcome would be.
“No, listen. ‘Is this football play?’, strong views on its safety, strong opinions, listen, some teams do well. From that perspective, I think we will make the right decision. ”
In fact, Goodell is probably better than the average idea of the outcome of the vote.
The decision to vote at the winter meeting would have only been made to keep the measurement alive, hoping it would be reworked with the behind-the-scenes team and pass after it was discussed.
What does Tush Push Ban look like? This could result in a rule that prohibits pushing of ball carriers inside tackle boxes. This allows authorities to continue to push and host Downfield like they do now, rather than throwing the flag.
