India Willoughby appears on Britain’s first transgender broadcaster. celebrity brotherpreviously filed a police report against author JK Rowling on charges of “gender nonconformity.”
Willoughby, a man who identifies as a woman, said in an interview with Britain’s Byline TV that she complained “thoroughly” to Rowling because she allegedly “misgendered” her.around deadline:
Ms Willoughby underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2015 and worked on regional news for ITV Tyne Tees, where she was hailed as Britain’s first transgender TV news reporter.
In recent days, Rowling has repeatedly refused to use Willoughby’s preferred pronouns and publicly mocked the broadcaster, now known as X, in posts on Twitter.
Willoughby said Rowling’s actions proved that “the mask is off”.
“The mask has come off. Historically, people have given her the benefit of the doubt because they heard all she did was protect women’s rights,” Willoughby said. “She can’t argue with that anymore because she actually came out and said it to me in a big way that India Willoughby is a man.”

The British Crown Prosecution Service has labeled hostility towards transgender people a “hate crime”. However, this does not include “misgendering” someone.
Rowling claimed that Willoughby’s actions amounted to “harassment”.
“A while back, a lawyer told me that not only did I have a clearly winnable case against India Willoughby for defamation, but India’s persistent targeting of me over the past few years met the legal standard of harassment. ” she said in the post. With X.
“I ignored this advice because I couldn’t be bothered to give India the publicity he clearly wanted,” Rowling added. “I know it’s a crime to lie to law enforcement, but the police just need to be explained. In my view, India is the epitome of a male narcissist who lives in a constant state of anger. He cannot force women to accept him on his own terms. ”

Surprisingly for such a prominent legal authority, he seems to forget that the Forstater decision established that gender-critical views can be legally protected as philosophical beliefs. There is no law forcing India to pretend to believe that it is a woman. 4/5
