TV tonight: the most underwatched series in years returns one last time | Television

someone somewhere

10pm, Sky Comedy
Of all the series that have gone unnoticed in recent years, the story of a woman who leaves the big city and returns to the small Kansas town where she spent her childhood to find her feet again tops the list. It's an emotional journey filled with heart-wrenching, belly laughs, raw and sweet, heartbreaking, and with enough arty flair that it wouldn't feel out of place at Sundance. Its glorious final season begins with a double bill, with Sam (Bridget Everett) considering adopting a dog while her former roommate Joel moves in with her boyfriend Jeff. Watch an hour of great TV in all genres, from tear-jerkers to fun-filled stories. It features the dirtiest rendition of “She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain” you've ever heard. Alexi Duggins

Rosaline (Karen Main, 2022), 9pm, Movie 4

Teens take on Romeo and Juliet…Rosaline's Caitlin Deaver and Minnie Driver. Photo: Pictorial Press/Alamy

Karen Main's approachable comedy takes Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet from a teenage perspective, but puts the tropes of high school comedy into medieval Verona. Caitlin Deaver plays the titular Rosaline Capulet, who doesn't appear in the Bard's play, but here she's an intelligent, career-minded girl who plays the floppy-haired hembo Romeo, played by Kyle Allen. She is also in love with Montague. That is, until his newly arrived cousin Juliet (Isabella Merced) turns around. This film about dive bars, sports (jousting), stoners, and youthful angst is easy to relate to for fans of Clueless, and it has a great star cast in Diva. Simon Wardell
