Two hackers arrested for allegedly stealing Taylor Swift ‘Eras Tour’ tickets

Two hackers were arrested for theft of cybercrime after stealing more than 900 Taylor Swift's “ERAS Tour” Ticket Fox News Digital has been confirmed.

According to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, Tyrone Rose, 20, and Shamala P. Simmons, 31, allegedly pocketed $600,000 during the plan.

“According to the charges, these defendants sought to benefit from the popularity of Taylor Swift's concert tours and other well-known events at the expense of others,” Katz said in a press release. “They allegedly exploited loopholes through offshore ticket vendors to steal tickets. Rose and Simmons were charged with Grand Larseny in the second degree, with the computer being charged with first degree tampering, fourth degree conspiracy and fourth degree tampering of the computer. They each have a maximum of 15 years in prison.

Fox News Digital has requested comment from Swift.

Swift faced multiple issues with the sale of “ERAS Tour” tickets. Ticketmaster has cancelled its public sale Swift tour in 2022 after high demand in pre-sales.

“The release of tomorrow's Taylor Swift sales | ERAS tour has been cancelled due to the extremely high demand for the ticket system and the insufficient remaining ticket stock to meet that demand,” Ticketmaster shared on social media at the time.
