Top High School Basketball Players Join Texas Longhorns
Two of the leading high school girls basketball talents in the nation are set to join the Texas Longhorns next season.
Sources have informed SB Nation that Addison Bjorn and Brianna Crittendon are likely to announce their commitment to Vic Schaefer’s program this week. Crittendon is planning to make her announcement on Wednesday evening, while Bjorn will reveal her college choice on Thursday morning at Park Hill South High School in Missouri.
Both players are ranked among the top 10 recruits in 2026 by ESPN, with Crittendon at No. 8 and Bjorn at No. 10.
Bjorn, a 6-foot-1 guard hailing from Missouri, was instrumental in Team USA’s victory at the Under-19 World Cup this summer. After a careful selection process, she narrowed her choices down to several schools, including Duke, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Iowa, Kansas, UW, and Texas. She also had offers from notable programs like UCLA, Stanford, Indiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Iowa State, Louisville, and Kansas State, with her latest official visit being to Kansas State.
Last season, Bjorn posted impressive averages of 22 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 3.3 steals per game during her senior year, earning her the title of Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year. While competing for Team USA, she contributed an average of 6.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in roughly 12 minutes per game, helping the under-19 team achieve a perfect 7-0 record at the World Cup. Additionally, she played a key role in Team USA’s success at the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup and the 2023 FIBA U16 Americas Championship.
Crittendon, a 6-foot-3 wing from Colorado, was also considering a competitive list of schools including TCU, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Tennessee, and Texas. Like Bjorn, she received offers from powerhouse programs such as North Carolina State, Georgia, UCLA, Notre Dame, Clemson, Wisconsin, California, Stanford, Michigan, Kentucky, Maryland, and Oklahoma State.
Texas, which made its first Final Four appearance since 2003 last season, has secured four commitments for 2026 ranked in ESPN’s top 100. Bjorn and Crittendon will join No. 20 Alia Speight from Nevada and No. 57 Amalia Holguin from California.
This season, the Longhorns are currently 4-0 and hold the No. 4 spot in the latest AP Top 25 poll. With the addition of Bjorn and Crittendon, they are expected to complement star forward Madison Booker, a two-time Sheryl Miller Award winner entering her senior year.
