Jeremiah Johnston, Author body of evidence: Study on the Resurrection of Jesus, To tell Resurrection is key to the Christian faith. Johnston is the apologetics and cultural exchange pastor at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.recent lifestyle caught the spotlight Johnston’s book is listed on the website.

“For the early church, belief in the Resurrection was not just a footnote, but rather a focal point, says Johnston. Every Sunday was Resurrection Sunday,” the LifeWay article said. “Flowing from this, he states that the resurrection of ‘Jesus’ is the central focus of our New Testament, and that over 300 verses refer to this truth. When we learn what the Bible teaches about Jesus’ resurrection, we are struck by the amount of power this unique historical event had on Jesus’ early followers. ”

According to Johnston, the resurrection “is not well-prepared because it is not well-preached or studied by most pastors.” As a result, a significant percentage of church members, even a minority, do not believe in the resurrection. According to LifeWay data, 26 percent of Christians in mainstream churches do not believe in a physical resurrection.

“You can’t be a follower of Jesus if you deny the historical, physical, physical resurrection of Jesus Christ,” Johnston says. “I’m surprised how controversial this answer is in modern media.”

Early Christians, he said, “turned their world upside down” because they saw Jesus risen from the dead.

“Our living hope is based on the historic and immutable fact that Jesus was bodily resurrected from the dead,” he said. “The Bible teaches that there is a “living hope” in the resurrected Christ.1 Peter 1:3), “Better Hope” (Hebrews 7:19), and “certain” hope (Hebrews 6:19). ”
