Tragic Attack in Syria Leaves Three Dead

On Saturday, an attack in Syria resulted in the deaths of two U.S. soldiers and a civilian interpreter, according to the Army Department. The Pentagon’s chief spokesperson, Sean Parnell, announced this devastating news.

Purnell mentioned that the incident occurred while U.S. personnel were involved in “an engagement with key leadership.” He emphasized that the mission aimed to support ongoing counter-ISIS and counter-terrorism efforts in the region.

Details about the soldiers will remain undisclosed until at least 24 hours after notifying their next of kin. Parnell also noted that the attack is under active investigation.

Army Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a statement, declaring that the “barbarians” responsible for the attack were killed by allied forces. Hegseth made it clear that any threats against Americans would be met with relentless pursuit and retribution.

The assault occurred during joint patrols conducted by U.S. and Syrian troops near Palmyra, as reported by various sources, including the Syrian state news agency and U.S. Central Command, which confirmed the casualties.
