Two women rescued day after falling 50 feet down a Florida golf course quarry

Rescuers rescued two women a day after they plummeted 50 feet from a quarry on a golf course outside Tampa, Florida, where they remained until a relatively chilly Christmas night.

The unidentified victims survived the horrific fall and authorities transported them to the hospital after first responders performed a complex rescue operation early Thursday morning. According to the Miami Herald.

“This morning, Citrus County Fire Rescue responded to a difficult rescue after two women fell approximately 50 feet into a quarry on the Quarry Course near the 17th hole at Black Diamond Ranch. ” he said. Citrus County Fire Rescue made the announcement on Facebook.

“The incident occurred on Christmas Day, but was not discovered until this morning,” the department continued.

Investigators did not say whether the women were playing on the Quarry Course, a rugged, forested course known for its rugged terrain.
