Tyler Herro is currently engaged in a custody dispute with his ex-girlfriend, Katya Henry, following their breakup this month, according to a recent report. The couple has two children: a daughter, Zya, born in 2021, and a son, Harlem, born in 2023.
Before the court dismisses his case, Herro, who claimed to have been making voluntary payments to Henry since the birth of their son, requested a parenting schedule and clarification on his child support obligations.
In her filing, Henry has sought primary custody, asserting that she has been the main caregiver and has largely made decisions regarding their children.
She also mentioned that she “intentionally omitted” details about Herro’s past behavior out of respect for him, while insisting that the court implement “safeguards and parameters” to ensure their children’s safety and well-being.
The case is still ongoing. Henry, a fitness model and founder of VelAura, began her relationship with Herro through social media during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. A year later, they had their daughter, but rumors of their breakup began circulating in 2022.
During that period, Henry took to social media, making allegations about Herro’s infidelity. She stated, “If you cheat on someone willing to do anything for you, you cheated yourself out of loyalty,” but later deleted the post.
In June, Herro was traded to the Bucks in a major deal involving Giannis Antetokounmpo moving to Miami. The Bucks also sent Bobby Portis to Miami in exchange for Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, unprotected first-round picks for 2031 and 2033, the No. 13 pick in the 2026 draft, a second-round pick in 2033, and a 2030 pick swap.
Herro was in Paris when he learned about his trade to the Bucks, expressing his surprise and excitement in a YouTube video. “Back to the motherf–king crib, dog. Y’all did lost your motherf–king mind,” he warned the Heat.
The 26-year-old guard, who attended Whitnall High School in Greenfield, Wisconsin, concluded his high school career with over 2,000 points and received a four-star ranking, in addition to being named the Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year.
He later played at Kentucky under coach John Calipari and was selected 13th overall by the Heat in the 2019 NBA Draft. Last season, Herro averaged 20.5 points with a shooting percentage of 48.
