Miami Dolphins defensive back Jalen Ramsey and offensive lineman Terron Armstead criticized how Miami-Dade Police officers handled the detention of Tyreek Hill.

Miami-Dade Police released body camera footage that captured the tense moments from when officers pulled Hill over to when he was removed from the car, taken to the ground and handcuffed.

Following the announcement, the NFL world spoke out about the situation, with Ramsey and Armstead expressing their displeasure.

“Fire them now! People like them have no power, they should go away!” Ramsay wrote to X.

“It's crazy because I watch the body camera footage over and over again! Every time I watch it I find new lies,” he added.

Armstead added in another post, “Tyreek came into the locker room right after this! His eyes were red with rage and pain! I couldn't help but feel my brother's pain as he told me what happened!! Watching this shit makes it even worse! Totally unnecessary and totally sad!”

The Dolphins organization called for punishment of the officers involved in Hill's detention.

“We are proud to have a strong and positive relationship with the Miami-Dade Police Department. [MDPD] “In working with police and other law enforcement agencies, we recognize that the vast majority of officers serve their communities with a strong will and spirit of wanting to protect all citizens,” the team said. “But as the video released tonight makes perfectly clear, some officers mistake their responsibility and passion to serve for a false sense of power.”

“While we commend MDPD for taking the appropriate and necessary steps to swiftly release this footage, we call on them to take equally swift and strong action against any officers involved in such despicable conduct.”

Miami-Dade County Police Chief Stephanie V. Daniels said Sunday that one officer involved in the detention had been placed on “administrative duties.”

Lawyers for the officers spoke out Monday, demanding their clients be reinstated.

“While we believe the decision to place our client on administrative leave was premature, we respect Director Daniels' request for a thorough investigation of the incident involving Tyreek Hill and we fully support that position,” attorney Ignacio Alvarez of the ALGO Law Firm and attorney Israel Reyes of the Reyes Law Firm said in a statement. “We urge all parties involved to refrain from making public statements that misrepresent our client's actions and mislead the public about Mr. Hill's detention.”

“We seek, as Director Daniels has also advocated, the immediate reinstatement of our client and a full, thorough and objective investigation. Our client will not comment until this investigation is concluded and the facts are fully known.”

Early Monday, the South Florida Police Benevolent Association said Hill had been “uncooperative” and defended the officers involved.

Police union president Stedman Staal said Hill was being detained “for the safety of our officers because he was driving in a manner that placed him at great risk to himself and others.”

“Upon being stopped, Mr. Hill did not immediately cooperate with officers on scene and therefore, as per protocol, and for the officers' immediate safety, Mr. Hill was handcuffed,” the statement read. “Mr. Hill continued to be uncooperative and refused to sit on the ground, so he was forced to sit on the ground.”

Stahl said Hill had been issued two traffic tickets and reminded anyone who has interactions with police officers to “follow the law first and your police commander and complain later.”

He added: “We are confident in the actions that led to Mr. Hill's arrest, but as with any investigation, we will await all the facts to come forward along with an explanation for Mr. Hill's actions that led to this unfortunate incident.”
