Tyreek Hill's position on the Dolphins and interest from other teams exposed during trade speculation

Tyreek Hill’s Trade Status Remains Unclear

Right now, Tyreek Hill isn’t generating much buzz around the league.

The Dolphins have no intentions of trading any of their eight Pro Bowl players, and, interestingly, they haven’t had any inquiries from other teams, according to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Saturday.

Since the end of last season, there’s been speculation about Hill becoming a trade target, especially after his unusual absence in Miami’s last game, which some took as a hint at a possible trade request.

However, earlier this year, Dolphins GM Chris Greer clarified that no official trade demands had been made, despite Hill later apologizing for his comments about the situation.

Currently, Hill is in the second year of a restructured three-year, $90 million contract and already exercised a $15.85 million option bonus this season. There are still bonuses totaling $10 million and $1.8 million left to be claimed for the rest of the season.

“Honestly, I’m not really focused on all that,” Hill said on Friday when questioned about trade rumors. “For me, it’s all about the noise. Adversity? That’s just an opportunity. I look at it like that.”

Yet, doubts about his future in Miami resurfaced among fans, especially after he managed only four receptions for 40 yards in a disappointing 33-8 loss to the Colts.

When a reporter from the Miami Herald asked him why he hadn’t made any catches over 30 yards following his impressive 80-yard reception against the Jaguars in the opening week of the season, Hill chuckled and responded, “Are you trying to make me mad?”

He emphasized that he wasn’t trying to be problematic but acknowledged that he’s looking forward to making more plays. “I’m thankful to be here, I love what I do. I know it’s coming,” he added, perhaps a bit hesitantly.

Hill’s frustration was evident, particularly when he had an intense exchange with the team staff during the first half of the Colts game, stemming from his limited role in the offense.

Now, the Dolphins and Hill are set to regroup and hope for a better performance against the Patriots this Sunday.
