Tyrese Haliburton, the Indiana Pacers point guard, is enjoying a great moment in his basketball career.
Following a thrilling 120-119 victory in the Semi-Final Series on Tuesday night, he celebrated with his girlfriend, Jade Jones. The Pacers shared a video showing the happy couple sharing a warm embrace as Haliburton exited the court.
Jones was seen joyfully cheering, sporting a customized Pacers varsity jacket. She took to her Instagram story to post several congratulatory messages directed at Haliburton.
“I know it’s right,” Jones wrote, accompanied by a blushing face emoji, sharing a clip of their affectionate moment. She also celebrated, proclaiming, “The winner of the game is whaaaaat,” along with a picture of Haliburton celebrating on the court with the caption “Game Time.”
The pair’s romance began during their college days at Iowa, where Haliburton was a basketball player and Jones was a cheerleader. They marked six years together in April.
In a pivotal Game 2 situation, Indiana’s Andrew Nembhard intercepted a pass from Cleveland’s Max Strus, leading to Haliburton being fouled by Cubs guard Ty Jerome. Haliburton made his first free throw, trimming the score deficit to 119-117 before missing the second shot but snagging an offensive rebound. With just 1.1 seconds left, he hit a crucial 3-pointer, sealing the win for the Pacers at 120-119.
His performance has been impressive throughout the playoffs; in Game 1, he contributed 22 points and 13 assists against the Cavaliers. Earlier in a first-round series against Milwaukee, Haliburton’s game-winning layup solidified their victory.
Meanwhile, Haliburton’s father, John, caused a stir after a previous game, discussing matters with Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. After apologizing to both teams, John announced he wouldn’t attend upcoming games for a while.
Looking ahead, Game 3 of the Pacers-Cavaliers series will take place on Friday night in Indianapolis.
