The world heavyweight unification bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk has been postponed after the British boxer suffered an “abnormal amputation” during a sparring session in Riyadh.
The blockbuster match was scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia on February 17th, but the date has not yet been determined.

A spokesperson for the promoter said: “This is obviously a huge disappointment given the hard work that so many people have put in to finally bring this historic event to the world.” Once doctors examined Tyson’s eyes… This will give you a more accurate idea of the recovery period needed.

“I can only apologize to everyone affected, including my own team, Team Usyk, undercard fighters, partners, fans, and my hosts and friends in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
The boxer posted on Instagram: “It’s inevitable to get injured while sparring, but what I can say is that Usyk was in a pinch. I’m doing great. We’ll reschedule as soon as possible. I’ll be with the team in 2024. It’s a big year for goalkeepers.”
Fury entered the fight against Usyk in Ukraine, which was touted as the “Ring of Fire”, after making his boxing debut in October with a split decision victory over former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. Ta.
