Tyson Fury’s dad headbutts Oleksandr Usyk team member in melee

Will this really be a fight week with Tyson Fury if his father John doesn’t embarrass himself?

WBC heavyweight champion Fury and unified WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk both arrived in Saudi Arabia ahead of their highly anticipated bout for the undisputed heavyweight title on Saturday.

During Monday’s media day, Fury’s camp and Usyk’s camp ran into each other and things quickly turned ugly.

Warning: Profanity

Both men shouted incessant vulgarities at each other while being restrained by security, before John Fury headbutted Stanislav Steczuk, a member of Usyk’s team.

The altercation had not turned physical before the headbutt.

John Fury quickly left, leaving his face covered in blood.

Then he and Fury’s camp started shouting “Fury!” Fury! ”

John Fury then apologized.

John Fury: “I sincerely apologize to everyone involved” told Second Out After the incident. “That’s where we are now. Emotions and tensions are running high. He was a very rude guy. If he gets close to a space where there are combatants, he’s going to crack down on something.

“What’s important to me is respect for my son and he didn’t show it at all. He said it about my son and that was it, so he has to have it. It didn’t bother me. [bleeding], that’s what we live and we fight people. It’s a regular occurrence for me. ”

That’s certainly the case, as John Fury flipped a table during the press conference for Tyson’s other son Tommy’s fight with KSI last August.

“What’s wrong with your head, you idiot?” Tyson Fury asked his father after Monday’s incident.

Stechak made fun of John Fury’s age.

“I was just supporting the team” Stepchak told Second Out. “We just screamed ‘Usik, Usyk’ and didn’t touch him. He went crazy… yeah [I wanted to punch him]But that wouldn’t be very fair because of the age difference…he shouldn’t be looking for a real match because he could have a heart attack and end up in the ambulance. ”

Saturday’s winner will become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999 and the first in the four-belt era.
