U.S. Open prize money payout: Bryson DeChambeau wins sensational $4.3 million

After two top-10 finishes at the Masters and PGA Championship, Bryson DeChambeau won the 124th U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2.

The LIV Golf captain held off Rory McIlroy thanks to a phenomenal bunker shot on the 18th hole. A par save on the final hole gave DeChambeau a one-stroke victory and his second U.S. Open title since 2020.

The win will add $4.3 million to his bank account.

Interestingly, DeChambeau’s stunning par save on the 18th hole reminded people of his hero, Payne Stewart, who won the tournament with an 18-foot putt in 1999. Granted, DeChambeau’s par was a bit shorter than Stewart’s, but it was still a special moment for the former SMU golfer.

DeChambeau has won a total of $6.993 million in his three major championship appearances this season, including a tie for sixth place at the Masters for $695,000, followed by a second-place finish at the PGA Championship for $1.998 million and this week’s U.S. Open win of $4.3 million.
