U.S. Rushing $725 Million More in Lethal Weapons to Ukraine

The Biden administration may be in its final stages, but that doesn't mean the flow of U.S. lethal weapons to Ukraine is showing any signs of slowing. Far from it.

This was confirmed on Monday when the White House announced an additional $725 million in military aid, including anti-drone systems and ammunition for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS).

AP report It is unclear whether the HIMARS ammunition is the much-needed ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System), but Ukraine is seeking more long-range missiles to hit additional targets inside Russia.

The plan also includes the addition of anti-personnel mines, which Ukraine is seeking to slow down Russian and North Korean ground forces in Russia's Kursk region, and which are already being used to support Kiev's fight against Russia. It's backed by billions of dollars in U.S. taxpayer funds. .

President Joe Biden has pledged to fully disburse military aid funds approved by Congress this year to Ukraine by the end of his administration on Jan. 20, and ahead of Monday's announcement, he announced plans to spend about 100% of the military aid funds that Congress approved this year for Ukraine. It included $7.1 billion.
