US Military Targets Drug Cartel in Caribbean

The United States military launched a strike against a cartel ship in the southern Caribbean on Tuesday, marking a notable step in President Donald Trump’s campaign against drug trafficking organizations.

The attack resulted in the sinking of a vessel linked to Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua cartel, with reports confirming the deaths of 11 cartel members. This operation, conducted by the US Southern Command, took place in international waters where Aegis-class missile boats and other assets were positioned to disrupt the cartel’s drug trade routes in Latin America.

“The US military was unharmed during this operation. This serves as a warning to anyone thinking about smuggling drugs into the United States. Tread carefully!” Trump stated on True Social.

Trump also emphasized that, based on his directive, the military was acting against Tren de Aragua narcoterrorists identified in the Southcom region.

Earlier in August, Trump classified several Latin American cartels as terrorist organizations, paving the way for immediate military action against them. The Tren de Aragua cartel emerged from a notorious Venezuelan prison and expanded its operations towards the American coast during the current administration.

Meanwhile, Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro has issued veiled threats in response to US military actions, mobilizing ships and drones while preparing two million militia members. “He will defend himself,” Maduro warned in August, speaking against what he called the “imperial threat.”

Both Tren de Aragua and Cartel de los Soles operate within Venezuela, with the latter having ties to Maduro’s regime. The activities of Tren de Aragua members are connected to various crimes, including murders, drug trafficking, and sex trafficking across the United States and beyond.
