UAW files apparently ‘frivolous’ intimidation lawsuits against Trump, Musk — who have no control over UAW members’ employment

On Tuesday, the United Auto Workers union called out former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s recent comments. X’s Space Interview.

The separate complaints allege that both Trump and Musk tried to “intimidate and threaten employees” during the meetings, but neither Trump nor Musk have the authority to dictate the hiring or firing practices of the auto company, which employs union members. Musk-owned Tesla does not have a union.

“It’s a shameless political ploy.”

in statement “The UAW has sued disgraced billionaires Donald Trump and Elon Musk in a federal labor lawsuit, accusing them of illegally threatening and attempting to intimidate workers who stand up for their interests by participating in protected concerted activity, such as strikes,” the union wrote to employees of Company X, which is owned by Musk.

The UAW sought to slam Musk’s Monday night interview, which he claimed was a huge success with a billion views. The union criticized the discussion as a “disjointed and disjointed conversation” in which Musk and Trump “alleged the wrongful termination of striking workers.”

The allegations refer to comments Trump made in which he praised Musk as a “best cutter” — likely a reference to Musk’s claim that he cut Twitter’s workforce by about 80% when he bought the company.

Trump told Musk: “I see what you guys are doing. You come into companies and you just say, ‘Do you want to quit?’ They go on strike. I won’t say the names of the companies, but there’s a strike and you say, ‘All right, you’re all gone. You’re all gone. You’re all gone.'”

“Yeah,” Musk said with a laugh during the interview.

The United Labor Union, which previously endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election, said in response to Trump’s comments, “Under federal law, workers cannot be fired for striking, and threatening to do so is illegal under the National Labor Relations Act.”

“This is what we mean when we say Donald Trump is a strikebreaker. This is what we mean when we say Trump stands against everything our union stands for,” UAW President Sean Fain said.

“Donald Trump will always side with billionaires like Elon Musk, who are always against working people standing up for themselves and donating $45 million a month to super PACs to get him elected president,” Fein continued. “Both Trump and Musk want working class people to sit back and stay quiet while they openly laugh at it. The behavior of these two clowns is disgusting, illegal and completely expected.”

Musk, a Trump presidential supporter who denies that he is donating $45 million a month to Trump’s campaign, responded to the UAW’s allegations by saying, “The last two UAW presidents went to prison for bribery and corruption, and looking at the news lately, it looks like this guy’s going to join them!”

A Trump campaign spokesman said the UAW’s lawsuit was “frivolous” and an attempt to sow rifts between the former president and union members. Detroit News Reported.

“This senseless lawsuit is a shameless political ploy to undermine President Trump’s overwhelming support among American workers,” campaign spokesman Brian Hughes said.

“Democratic special interest bosses may lie and scare tactics to stop President Trump from building the broadest coalition of any candidate in history, but ordinary working people and their families know the truth: President Trump strengthened our economy and got results on behalf of forgotten American men and women,” Hughes added.
