Uber to close Drizly in March

Uber plans to stop operating Dosley.

The move, first reported by Axios, comes nearly three years after the ride-hailing giant first moved to acquire the alcohol delivery platform and turn it into a subsidiary. The deal was valued at approximately $1.1 billion in stock and cash.

Uber told FOX Business in a statement that it will close DryZly soon.

“After three years of operating independently within the Uber family, Drizly is closing its doors and giving consumers access to nearly everything from food to groceries to alcohol in one app. “We decided to focus on our core Uber Eats strategy,” said Pierre Dimitri Gore-Coty, Uber's senior vice president of delivery. “We are grateful to his Drizly team for their significant contributions to the growth of the BevAlc distribution category as pioneers in their own industry.”

The alcohol delivery platform, which was subject to an FTC order in 2022 related to previous data breaches, also confirmed the move by social media platform X.
