“Some of the things I've seen just can't be overlooked,” Alina Kim, who helped coordinate the student-run Discord group's response to the hack, told the Register.
“Some people have reportedly been hospitalized with vomiting, panic attacks and traumatic reactions,” she said. “This really has a psychological impact.”
Approximately 3,000 people were reportedly exposed to graphic material while accessing the Discord website before moderators blocked the hacker's access.

Discord is a social media platform that allows users to make voice calls, video calls, and instant messages with each other.
Kim told local media that the hackers had been identified, but their identities were being withheld as they appeared to be for publicity purposes.
She said the attackers demanded a $1,000 ransom to prevent her from posting videos for the next month.
The University of California, Irvine did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
