UConn’s Sarah Strong and LSU’s Mikaylah Williams to Join US 3×3 National Team

This summer, Sarah Strong from UConn and Mikaylah Williams from LSU will join the US senior national team for women’s 3×3 basketball. They were recently announced as part of the roster for the upcoming 2025 FIBA 3×3 women’s series, which kicks off this weekend in Marseille, France.

Both players have had impressive seasons at their respective colleges. Strong and Williams are joining a team led by experienced 3×3 players, including Olympic medalist Sierra Bardick and Sahara Williams from Oklahoma.

Strong has had an exceptional freshman year at UConn, being recognized as the WBCA Freshman of the Year and earning spots on various national teams. She averaged 16.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, instrumental in helping UConn secure its 12th National Championship. Additionally, she’s a three-time champion at the FIBA 3×3 U18 Women’s World Cup, with wins in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and she also earned a gold medal at the FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship last summer in Bucaramanga, Colombia.

Mikaylah Williams, a sophomore, contributed significantly to LSU’s success, averaging 17.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, which was pivotal for the team’s second consecutive win. She received honorable mention as an All-American and made the All-SEC first team. Her achievements in 3×3 basketball include three U18 gold medals, and she was named the USA Basketball 3×3 Female Athlete of the Year twice.

Sierra Bardick, who wrapped up his college career at Tennessee in 2015, has made a name for himself in 3×3 competitions, winning four gold medals and assisting the US in securing a bronze at the 2024 games, even while playing professionally overseas.

Sahara Williams, also a two-year starter at Oklahoma, averages 10.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. She shares the distinction of winning the 3×3 U18 World Cup titles in both 2022 and 2023 with Strong and Williams.
