UConn’s Dan Hurley explains his ’emotional outburst’ in March Madness

Dan Hurley got a much more apologetic tone when he met with a Connecticut reporter on Wednesday.

He made comments on references including some expletives as Harley left the court and entered the tunnel after a 77-75 defeat to Florida in the second round on Sunday.

The clip went viral, and the video reporter “smashed” his life by UConn's sports information director Bobby Mullen, making UConn the topic of conversation among sports experts around the country.

Harley told reporters Wednesday that he would go overboard, “I didn't do that,” showing off some of the edges that UConn coaches have become known.

“These are the three great officials in that game,” Harley said. According to Hartford Coolant. “So I said something in the heat of the moment, but in the arena area, almost every game I coached in college was medialess. In the tunnels, in the locker rooms, in the corridors where the coaches go, it's for the combatants, it's for the competitors.

“If we don't get off the rails the last time, then that three years of running ends in an unbearable way… If there's no emotional blast there, then maybe everyone is talking about is the run we had, the great players.”

Mullen apologized to Queen City News' Joey Ellis this week for his actions.

Ellis seemed happy to move on from the drama.

Harley repeatedly replied with Mullen's own regrets about his role, but took the ultimate responsibility of the whole.

“Bobby regrets, like I regret. “I'm keeping everything moving and feeling terrifying. Obviously he was able to deal with people in the media on the phone where he filmed the video. [differently]he could clearly let it go. He should have been better trained for such a situation, we were with them all year round.
