The sports world is still reeling from the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk last week. Kirk was fatally shot while engaging in a discussion at Utah Valley University, and he later succumbed to his injuries.
This tragic event has elicited strong reactions from various figures in the sports community, including UFC president Dana White, who shared his thoughts on Logan Paul’s podcast.
White recounted, “I had just woken up and my phone was exploding. I was blown away.” He also mentioned that his children were deeply affected. “My daughter is 19 and in college. She has been devastated by this news for days. It’s heartbreaking for his family,” he added.
Logan Paul expressed his sentiments as well, stating that it was particularly distressing that Kirk was murdered during what was intended to be a peaceful discussion—something he described as a fundamental aspect of American values. He lamented the shift towards violence over dialogue, saying, “It’s so pathetic to resort to shooting when you can’t communicate. It undermines everything America stands for.”
In response, White remarked on the situation, saying, “This is what happens to those who struggle in debates.” Paul emphasized his admiration for Kirk’s ability to authentically engage in discussions.
Tyler Robinson has been charged with multiple serious offenses, including murder, obstruction of justice, and more, in connection with this incident.
