UFC Legend Cain Velasquez Sentenced to 5 Years in Prison for Shooting

Two-time UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velazquez was sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted in a 2022 shooting.

Velazquez was convicted of attempted murder after engaged in a high-speed car chase, and later fired fire with Harry Goalute. Yahoo Sports.

Goularte suffers a life-threatening wound in his arm in the incident, but his truck is filled with bullets and decides he comes from a firearm owned by Velazquez.

Arthur Bocanegra Court, Superior Court in Santa Clara County, California, has been the main side of a lawsuit that has been involving the court for three years. However, the judge also expressed many sympathy for Velázquez about his desire to protect his children.

The former UFC champion expressed regret for trying to incorporate justice into his own hands.

“What I did wasn't right,” Velazquez said on a podcast with Kyle Kingsbury. “I understand that. I paid. I pay anything else about what I have to do to pay it all back. I don't think I can pay it back, but I can always learn from the mistakes and help others.

He added.[But] The way I handled things was not the way to do it. You cannot put the law into your own hands. ”

The five-year sentence was reduced by the 1, 283 days already offered.

Gulathe is also on trial after being accused of indecent conduct with a minor. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
