UFC legend Mark Coleman was hospitalized with smoke inhalation after rescuing his parents from a house fire in Ohio, but he is “breathing on his own.”
Coleman’s daughter, Kenzie I posted a video The retired MMA fighter’s Instagram page showed his family in a hospital bed. Coleman was connected to several machines monitoring his health, and although his voice was raspy, he sat and responded.
“I’m the happiest person in the world,” he said with tears in his eyes. “I swear to God I’m so lucky. I can’t believe my parents are still alive.

“I had to make a decision. I walked out of the room and went to the door. It was horrible. I couldn’t breathe. I had to go outside. I went back there and got them. .I got them.” I can’t believe it. I got it, but I couldn’t find Hummer (my dog). ”
Kenzie wrote a heartfelt message in the caption.
“God is good. Miracles do happen. Our father is breathing on his own. We still have a long way to go, but we are so grateful. For your love and support. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart,” the caption read.

“He managed to get his parents out of the house, but despite his best efforts, he was unable to save Hammer. After this heroic act, he was rushed to the hospital where he is currently fighting for his life. ” she wrote.

“Our father has always been our hero and means the world to us. He is and always will be a warrior. The strongest (and) bravest man I know. Please continue to pray for him and our family during this very difficult time. We’ll miss our sweet Hammer very much.
“Thank you for all the love and support. Keep up the Hammer House forever.”
Fremont, Ohio native Mark Coleman represented the United States in the 1992 Olympics and joined the UFC in its early days. He became the first UFC Heavyweight Champion with a submission victory over Dan Severn at UFC 12 in 1997.
