UK issues travel warning for US

The UK updated its travel advice to the US on Thursday, warning of harsh consequences for UK passport holders violating US immigration laws.

Notices come one day after Germany updated its travel advice after three citizens were detained for attempting to enter the US

The UK Foreign Office confirmed earlier this month that it was providing support to British citizens detained in the US after reports of women detained at the border spread. Reuters reported.

“U.S. authorities have strictly set and enforce entry rules,” the office said. “If you break the rules, you are responsible for arresting or detaining them.”

Germany said it was investigating an incident this week when three citizens were denied entry and detained while trying to pass through the southern US border.

Germany has since updated its recommendations to provide people with entry through the electronic system for travel approval or via US visas, and US border extermination has the final say to allow people to the country.
