The top Ukraine official will meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Saudi Arabiaand other Trump aides departed for Jeddah on Sunday. Andriy Yermak, head of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Ukrainian Presidential Office, is expected to lead the Kyiv delegation. Zelenskyy also says he will be in Saudi Arabia this week. Zelenskyy said Ukraine is “fully committed” to constructive dialogue in Saudi Arabia. “There are realistic suggestions on the table. The key is to move quickly and effectively.” In February, US officials met about the war with Russian Saudi officials, even without Ukrainian representatives.
Donald Trump said on Sunday that he hopes for a good outcome from the talks. He told reporters that his administration had it. “Just” unlocks intelligence pause in Ukraineand I was seeing a lot about Russian tariffs. Trump said he thought Ukraine would sign a mineral agreement with the US. “I want them to want peace,” Trump said.
Zelensky said Russia had “hundreds of attacks” against Ukrainians last week. Approximately 1,200 guided air bombs, nearly 870 attack drones, and different types of over 80 missiles were used.
There were mixed reports of the results afterwards. Russian special forces sneaked in unused gas pipelines to attack Ukrainian units holding territory in Russia's Kursk region. Ukrainian military general staff confirmed on Saturday evening that the Russian “blocking and attacking groups” had used the pipeline to gain footing outside Suda. They were “attacked with rockets and artillery after being detected in a timely manner. The enemy losses at Suda are very high.” The Russian telegram channel showed a photo of what they said was a special forces wearing gas masks and moving along what appears to be the inside of a large pipe. Other videos showed that the Russians were observed from the air and allegedly attacked. The video could not be checked.
Russia announced on Sunday that it had crossed the border from Kursk and captured territory in Ukraine's Smie region. This is the first time since 2022 that it has crossed a border attack. The Russian Ministry of Defense also said the military had it on Sunday Photographed four villages north and northwest of Sudzhaclosest to the centre 12 km (7.5 miles). The claim came the day after it was reported Russia Capture of three other villages near Sudzha.
Ukrainian drones targeting oil infrastructure in southern and central Russia Russian officials and telegram channels said all night at the beginning of Sunday. According to the local governor, the drones struck an oil depot on Cheboksary, a Russian city on the Volga River, about 1,000 km (620 miles) from the border. Online footage showed what looked like a Fire one or near it Russia's largest oil refinery in a city in southern Riazan. Shot, a Telegram news channel, said residents had heard the explosion near the refinery. Local governor Pavel Malkov confirmed the Ukrainian drone attack in the region.
France said on Sunday that it will use profits from frozen Russian assets to raise 195 million euros ($222 million) in Ukrainian weapons.the latest in a series of military aid delivery funded through assets. In an interview with the LA Tribune Dimanche newspaper, French Foreign Minister Sébastien Lecornu said he would send another 155mm of artillery and gliding bombs for the 2000 fighter jet that Paris gave to Ukraine.
Zelenskyy gave a speech at the awards ceremony on Sunday, saying, “I'm sorry, but I'm not wearing a suit.” It brought smiles and applause. The president wore black clothing with a Ukrainian Trident symbol similar to what he wore during a fierce exchange with the US president at the White House in February.
