Ukraine's violence is having a deeply personal impact on Trump, according to Keith Kellogg's daughter.

President Trump is reportedly affected by the distressing scenes of violence and chaos emerging from Ukraine, as noted by the daughter of a high-ranking former military official.

Megan Mobbs, who is the daughter of retired General Keith Kellogg, stated that the ongoing suffering of war victims has become “super-personal” for Trump, leading him to feel a strong obligation to take action himself.

This profound sense of responsibility may explain Trump’s quick and evolving views about Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“It’s incorrect to portray the president as disinterested in people. He is very personal,” Mobbs shared with the Post.

“He feels deeply when he looks at satellite images of casualties. He wants to put an end to the killings. It’s not coming from a place of being pro-Russian,” she added, referencing the backlash Trump faced for mentioning casualties in Russia.

“That’s where our humanity lies. He is very invested in these matters.”

Mobbs has witnessed the violence directly, not just because of her familial connections but also through her work with the RT Weatherman Foundation.

“Conditions are dire. You can sense it when you see it firsthand or even go through it,” she commented.

The war, ongoing for more than three years, has reached a critical point, with Russia launching a series of record-setting drone strikes in July, resulting in numerous civilian fatalities.

A NATO jet had to take action as Russian forces fired multiple drones and missiles on Tuesday night.

“Today, I saw no advancement in discussions with him,” Trump remarked after another call with Putin. “I’m very disappointed… It seems he isn’t interested in stopping.”

The conflict intensified following Trump and Putin’s previous conversation in early July, with Ukraine facing a surge in attacks from Russian forces.

A targeted drone attack in southern Ukraine resulted in a tragic death on Wednesday, with residents feeling as though they are hunted in a terrifying game.

According to Mobbs, while Trump’s attempts to establish rapport with Russian leaders have seen setbacks, he genuinely desires to manage his relationship with Putin directly, believing he is uniquely capable of doing so.

“I think the president has always wanted to be hands-on, as he feels he can handle that connection best,” she explained.

Trump has previously indicated a desire to find solutions to the ongoing war, recognizing it as no small task.

“He was always aware he would become a focal point concerning Russia,” she noted.

The poignant images of rising violence, including disturbing visuals of deceased infants and devastation from drone strikes, might have motivated Trump to consider significant action.

“We will announce a major statement concerning Russia on Monday,” Trump stated during a recent NBC News interview. “You’ll see developments.”

While specifics were not provided, there is speculation that proposed hefty tariffs on countries buying Russian oil could be part of his strategy.

Regardless of what the announcement entails, next week may represent a crucial turning point in the conflict. Mobbs believes this outcome has been inevitable since the onset of the war in February 2022.

“We were never impartial; we have always aimed to serve America’s best interests,” she argued, suggesting Trump is focused on what is best for American citizens.

“I think the President has always been motivated by America’s most pressing concerns, and inherently, this means we cannot remain neutral.”
