Angel Hernandez, one of MLB’s most notorious umpires, is set to retire on Tuesday. USA Today reported late Monday night.
John Heyman of The Post The report was confirmed..
Major League Baseball and Hernandez have reportedly been negotiating a financial settlement over the past two weeks, with the agreement reached over the holiday weekend.

Hernandez is considered one of the league’s most controversial umpires because of his tendency to miss calls, and in 2017 he filed a racial discrimination lawsuit, alleging he missed out on World Series assignments and a crew chief position because of his race.
The case was dismissed in 2021, and an appeals court upheld that decision last year.
Hernandez served as the home plate umpire for the White Sox-Guardians game in Cleveland on May 9, his final game.
