After an unexpected incident in Miami, fans were understandably upset. A group of angry Phillies supporters pressured a father, who had just caught a baseball, to retrieve it for his young son.
A female fan was particularly vocal, demanding the ball, which had been handed to the father for his son.
She even confronted another fan wearing an Eagles jersey, clearly unhappy with how everything unfolded.
Warning: Graphic Language
Drew Feltwell hit a home run that struck Phillies outfielder Harrison Bader during a game against the Marlins. He returned to his seat, eager to share the moment with his son, Lincoln.
Video footage captured a woman screaming at Feltwell, insisting that the ball rightfully belonged to her.
Feeling the pressure, Feltwell eventually gave in.
In another clip, the woman continued her demands for the home run ball, visibly distressed as she addressed Feltwell.
Feltwell later recounted, “I just wanted her to leave,” in an interview with NBC10 Philadelphia.
He shared his perspective on the chaotic moment at the game, noting that the woman was behind him in the stands. “I don’t really know if she was paying attention,” he said. “I was just trying to watch the ball the whole time.”
She had yelled, “That’s my ball!” even though her seat was unoccupied. Feltwell found it odd, but he wanted to focus on his son.
While Lincoln expressed disappointment about giving up the ball, the Phillies organization made an effort to cheer him up.
After the game, Bader personally met with Lincoln and gave him a signed bat, which certainly brightened the young fan’s spirits.
