However, the university quickly pushed back against what they called “false” claims about her involvement.
While it’s true that Hudson isn’t an employee of the University or its athletic program, she has been welcomed at the Carolina soccer facilities. The university stated that she will continue to oversee activities connected to Coach Belichick’s personal brands, aside from Carolina football and its responsibilities.
A report from ESPN’s Pablo Torre alluded to concerns from the Belichick family about Hudson potentially being “harmful” to his legacy. They expressed “deep worries” about her increasing presence. However, shortly after UNC’s rebuttal, Torre affirmed his initial claims regarding her ban from the facility.
He mentioned that UNC might alter its stance on Hudson’s involvement in the wake of the episode. The university has received multiple FOIA requests hoping for clarification but hasn’t been forthcoming, which has left some in the media unsatisfied.
Hudson reportedly became deeply integrated into Belichick’s professional life after he was brought on by UNC’s soccer coach last December. There’s speculation that Hudson may have disrupted things a bit, particularly with how the Tar Heels program has been presented, like in “Hard Knocks.”
Fans are voicing their concerns, especially as the team’s performance has dipped. It seems Belichick has made requests to include Hudson more, and I wonder how all this will unfold.
