The North Carolina Tar Heels currently lead the season series against Duke, 3-0.

This doesn’t show up on the scoreboard, but as a UNC fan you deserve a lot of credit for a perfectly executed troll job.

Duke entered the ACC Tournament as the No. 2 seed behind the Tar Heels, whom they lost to twice during the regular season.

The Blue Devils advanced to the quarterfinals with a bye and faced No. 10 North Carolina State after winning the first two rounds.

Duke was an 11.5-point favorite to win, but the Wolfpack looked much like it did in 1983, and Jim Valvano would no doubt be proud.

North Carolina State won the game 74-69 and unfortunately survived and advanced to the semifinals (they upset No. 3 Virginia after a wild buzzer-beater forced overtime ).

The Wolfpack faced the Tar Heels in the finals, with UNC defeating No. 9 Florida State and No. 4 Pitt.

However, Tar Heel fans took the opportunity to mess with Duke once again.

In a seat directly behind the ESPN broadcaster, a fan wearing a shirt with a picture of Kyle Filipowski tripped Harrison Ingram and wrote on his cell phone, “Where? Where?”

Fans got a taste of their own medicine when North Carolina State defeated UNC 84-76 to win the ACC tournament.

Duke could very well have earned the No. 1 seed in March Madness had they advanced in the ACC Tournament (and probably should have), but their fate is now firmly up in the air. There is.

It remains to be seen where UNC and NC State will be ranked, but there is no doubt that this upset will shake up the March Madness landscape.
