UNC football cancels Hulu docuseries after Bill Belichick's failure

Belichick’s Hulu Series on Tar Heels Canceled

A planned Hulu series focusing on Bill Belichick’s inaugural season with the Tar Heels is no longer happening.

This news comes from Inside Carolina, just days after the Tar Heels experienced a significant 38-10 defeat against Clemson on their own turf.

Belichick, who is 73, had initially announced in August that the series would document his team’s journey throughout the season, particularly during what has been a challenging start in college football.

In his August Instagram video, Belichick expressed enthusiasm about the UNC football program, noting considerable interest in the series set to air on Hulu later this fall. This announcement followed a failed deal for the NFL documentary “Hard Knocks.”

Despite the excitement surrounding Belichick, including his high-profile relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, the Tar Heels have struggled, ending up at 2-3 early in the season.

The season kicked off on a disappointing note with a 48-14 loss to TCU, witnessed by a notable audience featuring Michael Jordan and Randy Moss.

Though the team managed to secure wins against Charlotte and Richmond, they have faced setbacks recently, with fans leaving early during the devastating loss to Clemson.

After the game, Belichick remarked, “I think it was a good week and I think we were ready. Unfortunately, we allowed some big plays early, which tipped the scales, and we couldn’t recover.” His team is currently navigating ongoing challenges, even in his absence from the field.

A recent report from WRAL News labeled Belichick’s program as an “unstructured mess,” lacking culture and organization, adding to the ongoing drama surrounding the team.

The Tar Heels are set to compete next against California on October 17.
