Undocumented immigrant faces charges for deadly car accident in Florida

Truck Driver Arrested After Fatal Crash in Florida

An undocumented truck driver was taken into custody in Florida after allegedly trying to make an illegal U-turn, leading to a tragic accident.

Authorities from the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) report that Harjinder Singh, who entered the country unlawfully and obtained a commercial driver’s license in California, faces three counts of vehicle homicide related to a deadly collision that occurred on Tuesday.

White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson expressed her sorrow, stating, “This is a devastating tragedy, exacerbated by the fact that it is completely preventable. Illegal aliens who do not have legal rights in our country should certainly not be licensed as commercial drivers.”

Reports indicate that Singh attempted to make a U-turn in a prohibited location while driving a commercial vehicle with a trailer on the Florida Turnpike in Fort Pierce. This maneuver allegedly resulted in his trailer colliding with a minivan, tragically claiming the lives of all three passengers inside the minivan.

Jackson also criticized the policies in place, saying, “Gavin Newsom’s fatal alien policy has fatal consequences. Even so, he continues to double down and keep illegal among American citizens.”

Singh is believed to have crossed the US-Mexico border in 2018 and remains in detention on both immigration violations and vehicle homicide charges.

Dave Kerner, the executive director of FLHSMV, commented on Singh’s actions, noting, “The actions the defendant took while operating the commercial tractor trailer are both shocking and criminal. As a result of his recklessness, three will lose their lives, and countless friends and family will experience the pain of loss forever.”

In California, legislation passed in 2013 allows residents to obtain a driver’s license regardless of their immigration status.

As of now, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has not responded to requests for further comment on the situation.
