Traffic came to a halt—not for construction, but because of an unexpected spectacle. In Commerce City, Colorado, police were just as taken aback as the motorists this week when a unicyclist juggling flaming torches decided to turn a busy intersection into a makeshift performance. They humorously remarked that this event was “certainly not on the bingo card.”
The Commerce City Police Department shared drone footage showcasing the unusual scene after receiving multiple calls from drivers who reported the unicycle performer near U.S. 85th Avenue and 60th Avenue. “This post was certainly not on the bingo card, but it’s here nonetheless,” they noted on social media, cheekily questioning whether the intersection might be as lively as the Las Vegas Strip.
Witnesses saw the performer gliding over medians and crosswalks while traffic idled at red lights, prompting some concern from drivers. “Lately, we’ve gotten quite a few reports about this fire-wielding unicyclist providing some unexpected entertainment,” police mentioned.
Using a drone, officers filmed the act, capturing the man skillfully balancing on the unicycle while flames danced dangerously close to passing vehicles. While the police acknowledged the impressive skill involved, they were clear that the stunt crossed a legal boundary. “This was a very good act, though extremely illegal,” they stated, pointing out that he was trespassing and blocking traffic.
Authorities keep a close watch on intersections to ensure that street vendors do not disrupt traffic flow, and they mentioned that reports of such unusual incidents are quite rare. “Honestly, we don’t usually receive reports like this… in fact, we’ve never received one like this,” they added, perhaps with a hint of amusement.
Ending their message on a light note, the police reminded everyone that playing with fire in traffic isn’t exactly advisable. “Let’s appreciate this man’s talent, but let’s also agree not to replicate it. Right?”
