Union boss slams Harris for boasting she’d win election ‘with or without’ endorsement

During Monday's interviewtucker carlson showO'Brien explained why the Teamsters refused to endorse Harris in the November presidential election. It was the first time in nearly 30 years that the union did not endorse a candidate.

“That's really arrogant.”

O'Brien said Harris previously told Teamsters Vice President Joan Corley that the union “better jump right in” to support her.

O'Brien said the union had repeatedly lobbied Harris for an interview in the run-up to the presidential campaign.

“After we pressured her, she finally agreed to come,” he told Carlson. “I've been doing interviews here and there and I've said, 'I'm not invited to the DNC.' [Democratic National Convention]. They have not accepted our invitation to invite her to the roundtable. ”

Mr O'Brien explained that rank-and-file union members had prepared 16 questions for Mr Harris to answer during the roundtable. He noted that the union has conducted similar interviews with other presidential candidates, including Trump, and all have answered all questions.

She claimed that Harris' team was trying to “negotiate” with the union just to ask her three questions.

“So she answered three of them, and on the fourth question, one of her operatives or one of her staff members slipped a note in front of me that said, 'This will be your last question.' ” he told Carlson. Scheduled for another 20 minutes.

“Her declaration on the way out was, 'With or without you, I'm going to win,'” O'Brien said.

Carlson responded, “Damn. I thought I was arrogant. Really arrogant.”

After the roundtable event, O'Brien said he reached out to President Joe Biden's former labor secretary, Marty Walsh.

O'Brien claimed to have told Walsh, “Let me ask you a question, Marty. Excuse my French. Who does this bitch think she is?”

“If I want support from some organization, I'm not going to put my finger in someone's face and say, 'You better get involved, otherwise,'” he continued.

During his interview with Carlson, O'Brien also expressed concern about Biden's health, noting that what he observed “looked like elder abuse.”

“Biden was there, and you could clearly see that he wasn't the person he was supposed to be. It was a little sad,” he added.

A majority of Teamsters members (59.6%) supported Trump over Harris. The union, which represents 1.3 million members, previously supported Biden and Hillary Clinton.

A spokeswoman for Harris did not respond to a request for comment. newsweek.
