Amid multiple wildfires burning in Southern California, Universal Studios Hollywood will close the gates to its theme park and Universal CityWalk on Wednesday, citing “extreme wind and fire conditions.”
“Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk are closed today due to extreme wind and fire conditions.” said the theme park.
“We continue to assess the situation and plan to reopen tomorrow. The safety of our team members and guests is our top priority.”
Four wildfires in Los Angeles County were 0% contained as of Wednesday morning.
The Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, and Woodley fires have collectively affected more than 5,700 acres, according to CalFire.
Another fire in Riverside County, the Tyler Fire, burned 15 acres but is 100% contained.

The National Weather Service predicted “widespread wind and extreme fire damage across much of Los Angeles and Venture County” early Wednesday.
The fire prompted evacuation orders for more than 30,000 people.
