The University of Vermont has canceled the commencement address by U.N. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, a pioneering black female diplomat, in response to demands from an anti-Israel “camp” on campus.
This “encampment” is one of dozens across U.S. campuses that advocate the destruction of Israel and other anti-Semitic demands.

“Every time I see a headline about the United States vetoing the UN ceasefire resolution in the Security Council, it’s accompanied by a picture of her with her hand raised over the veto. There’s no pain and trauma and suffering involved,” James said. students from the Palestinian justice group Students for Justice said in an earlier interview with NBC5.
WPTZ interviewed the leader of the local chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine, who said she was happy not to speak and hoped to no longer receive an honorary degree. WPTZ allowed masked students to be taken off camera.
The university appears to have made concessions to the activists, fearing protests during the opening hours. They also agreed to disclose the university’s investments.
