UNLV Attacker Used Legally Purchased 9mm Handgun

Police have confirmed that a legally purchased 9mm handgun was used by the assailant in Wednesday's University of Nevada, Las Vegas shooting.

CNN I got it. Las Vegas Metro Police Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the handgun was a Taurus PT92 pistol, which the 67-year-old Las Vegas suspect legally purchased about 18 months ago.

When law enforcement shows that a firearm was legally purchased, they are showing that it was purchased at a retail store through a background check.

Breitbart News has repeatedly shown that the majority of high-profile mass shooters over the past 16 to 17 years obtained their guns through background checks. But Democrats, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, Sen. Chris Murphy and President Joe Biden, continue to push for stronger background checks as a solution to high-profile mass shootings.

Below is a short list of some notable attackers who obtained guns through background checks.
