Unrivaled will commit to an average annual salary of more than $220,000, prioritize player development and host games on TNT and TruTV on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays.

“We are collectively changing the outlook for the ecosystem,” said Alex Bazel, president of Unrivaled. “Now that there's space out there, more leagues are raising salaries. I think we can help grow that, just financially for the players who are being paid a lot of money to play basketball. That's where we want to get to. It's great to have a deal with a brand and it's great to have all this off the court, but at the end of the day, it's us. We want to be able to pay them well on the court.”

In addition to salary increases, the new offseason league is focused on player development. All six of Unrivaled's head coaches (Nora Henry, Adam Harrington, DJ Sackman, Andrew Wade, Teresa Weatherspoon and Phil Handy) have strong player development backgrounds, with Weatherspoon Handy recently served as the head coach of the Chicago Sky. for a long time Los Angeles Lakers assistant.

“We're pretty excited just to get our players on the market and develop them under this facility and have the resources that they always feel they deserve in the offseason, but the reality is they still don't get it. “It's a real experience from the player development side,” Buzzell said.
